There are several reasons why your amp or sub may not be working properly.

Below is a checklist for information that we may need to know to trouble shoot the problem.

You can update your question and include the following information so we may be able to diagnose your problem and help you further:

1. What is the make and model of the amplifier are you using?
2. What crossover are you using?
3. What box are you using and cubic feet?    Is the cubic feet for one or two subs?
4. Is your amp rated to work with the subwoofer?
5. Is the amp hooked up correctly?  Amp ratings are not always true, check the true rating?
6. What amp kit are you using?
7. Is the gauge of wire in the amp kit the recommend gauge to use?
8. Are the subs wired according to the ohms they are rated?  2 ohm, 4 ohm, 8 ohm, are all wired differently.
9. What is the make and model of your head unit?
10. Does your head unit match the requirements for the amplifier?
11. Is the head unit sending the wrong signal to the amplifier?
12. Is all of the wiring correctly ran according to manufactures specifications?
13. Is the amp grounded correctly?
14.  What grounding source are you using?  Sometimes you need to ground right to the battery terminal because the alternator may not be a good enough ground.
15. Is the speaker wire between the amp and the subs the correct gauge wire?
16.  Is the voltage match between the amp and the head unit match?

We will assist you as soon as we have evaluated your problem.

Note: Head unit, amplifier, crossover, wiring kit for amp, speaker wire going to the box,  box has the correct air space for either  sealed or ported (single or pair), wiring of the subs, placed correctly in your vehicle for best sound according to manufacture.  All of these combined together need to match exactly for everything to work together properly and to give you the best performance.
